a slice of life...

Got myself a few new bits to play dress-up with. I had hoped to wear this to our summer wine party, but neither my tophat or corset made it in time... oh well, there's always my 20 year high school reunion!

here's a little peek at Jami entertaining us at the wine party:

A shot in B & W of this rad diner - table jukebox from the late 40's. Bunches brought this home a few weeks ago. such character... i really want to explore B & W photography more...

On Saturday, June 25th I will have a piece in the Sea No Evil art benefit in Riverside Ca. My piece is 16" x 20" framed in an open wood frame, and is titled "Caught Between"

I put a super low starting bid on it, so get on out there, help a great cause, and bring some art home!! Here's the website with all the deets : seashepherdartshow.com

I took this pic last week. i liked that translucent quality to the spider, but the cross on his back actually makes this picture.

I also celebrated my birthday this year at the happiest place on Earth. Bunches and I dropped the kiddos off with Nana for the day/night and went to Disneyland.. just the two of us. it was SO great to ride the "big kid" rides! And as an added bonus, our friends Dolly & Paul, and my girl Sloan met up with us for fun & dinner! here's me and the girls, thanks so much ladies!!!

Another cool find by Bunches... the Madam X napkin dispenser/fortune telling machine from the '50's. I put in a lot of elbow grease, and it cleaned up great! love this piece, and it still works like a charm!!

Thanks to Michaels' buddy Mark, we also scored this rad piece. i love skulls, and i think this one fits in really well with all of our other goods!

And here's a little painting i did as a surprise for my dear friends Jeff & Sarah. They're expecting their first baby, and have a Snoopy themed nursery. so, i thought it would be fun to make something for baby Newk! Grats you two!!

And we just returned yesterday from a 3 night/four day stay at Disneyland/CA Adventure with the boys. Lots of fun, huge summer crowds, and sore muscles from all the walking/stroller pushing we did. it's so awesome to be able to do these things with the kids... and see the excitement through their eyes. Mr. D especially was excited to see Lightning McQueen with his new Cars 2 paint job... Mr. B refused to do anything until we got him a churro.... note picture :)

Since I'm still exhausted from the big Disney excursion, and wasn't witty enough to make funny remarks and keep this entry a little more interesting, i'll leave you all with this gem...

ttfn!
